Happy Sunday!!!!
Today we are thankful for:
1) the wonderful fall weather we have been having!
2) Ice cream sandwiches!! The accountant at work bought ice cream sandwiches for the other hosts and I to eat.
3) Having God guiding the way every single day!
I don’t know about you…… but I’m insanely directionally challenged. My friends will talk about driving and tell me “follow 89 and then get off onto 93..” and they just keep naming numbers and letters that make absolutely no sense to me.
My GPS is my LIFESAVER!!! I kid you not, I went to an ACT class for 6 weeks and I used my GPS for at least 4 of the 6 weeks.
Whenever I feel lost, I turn to my GPS to show me the way.
Sooooo when I feel spiritually lost… why would I not turn to a GPS as well?
When life gets you down, whether you are pressed, perplexed, persecuted, or struck down, Jesus wants us to turn to him.
2 Corinthians 4:8-9,16-18
We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
Jesus took all of the pressure, the perplexion, the persecution on himself. He was struck down on the cross. He bared the worst things out of love for us.
Jesus directs us to him when life is difficult.
Isaiah 43:1 tells us that God will be with us
Psalm 50:15 tells us that he will deliver us
Psalm 32:8 says he will watch over us
Jeremiah 29:12 says that he will listen to us
Our troubles seem like the worst thing in the world but, in reality, they are nothing compared to the promise we have of an eternal life in heaven.
When we feel lost we turn to the GPS
G od’s
P romises
S tand
Sometimes our GPS gets a little off track and needs to be re-centered.
Just like that, our lives need to be re-centered on Jesus. And when we are centered on Jesus, he protects us, he directs us, and his promises stand.
Things to work on this week:
1) so I put my two weeks in at my job yesterday… it had me feeling constantly stressed out! Now is time to finish strong and relax before applying for a new job!
2) Drinking more water!!!!! I’m so dehydrated 24/7 and it’s awful.
3) Centering my life on Jesus! And following his directions through and through
Hope you have an amazingly fantastic week!
Sharing my love for Jesus and his love for you!
